Arizona shooting... continued...

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

I think we all find common ground on that point. Snooki is coming to Greensboro this month. Oh god, I can feel myself getting dumber just thinking about it.

Jay, the Palin rep I saw on tv Monday was a woman on Fox telling ( and being prompted by, strangely enough) by the reporter, saying they weren't crosshairs, they were surveyor's markings. It was ludicrous.

And this just in...Palin "tones down the rhetoric" by lashing out at the media and Democrats, using the term "blood libel", a term describing the myth of Jews killing non-Jewish children to provide blood for the Passover celebration.

Classy Sarah, classy.

And this just in just in...Palin pulls "blood libel" video from her site. So...you don't care what the media thinks? Or you do care? Or you're admitting you're wrong? Or ...???

All I know is I wish everyone at the memorial service would quit clapping so much... It's a memorial service, not a political rally.

Damn kids. Get off my lawn.

An old friend of his also said that he never listened to political talk radio... But I'm still not hearing much about that.

Guess they got to let the "lunatic Tea Party" template play out as long as they can.

Unfortunately for those of us who are completely disgusted by the politicization of this horrible event, I'm afraid it has reset the debate table around 1st and 2nd amendment issues for the rest of the year, and into 2012.

It was great to watch Obama have to rein in and school his own base... Obermann and sheriff Lugnut must have red bottoms right about now.

Some events really are not meant to be politicized.

Imagine that...

The average IQ of both Greensboro and New Jersey will drop when that happens...

Yeah, I googled it after I saw your post. That sound I heard turned out to be my brain starting to bleed.

Word is that Snookie's 'manager' is "Spazz"...the kid at the Greensboro Grasshoppers games...don't ask me how or why, but one of our guys is the announcer at the ball field, so he should know what's up.

The IQ dropped when Bob arrived...just sayin'.

Can't really disagree with that last line.

So, Palin is done on a national level after her "blood libel" screed yesterday? Discuss. The comparison between that and Obama's masterful speech last night is quite telling.

I'm still amazed with the left's fascination with this woman... your own screed further emphasizing my amazement. I'm still waiting for one shred of evidence that Tea bags, talk radio or Republicans had anything to do with this dude going ape-shit.

If you want to discuss, let's ask why the left insists on keeping her in the news when most mainstream Republicans don't give two shits about her.

For once, I have to agree with Bob... Palin had a golden opportunity to address the situation and the nation as a whole, but instead, she got defensive and seemed to just speak directly to her base. This was not the time for that.

Needless to say, she did not look presidential. At all.

She seems to have fell in the trap that many politicians do: insulate herself from the other side and associate only with those who are like-minded.

However, I don't think she is finished as far as fundraising and organizing. She will remain insanely popular with her base.

My nightly prayer.

Unfortunately Lester, the Republican party is no longer run by the mainstream. It's run by Palin and her ilk. Good for the short term, fatal in the long term.

No... your friends in the media want it to look that way, but it's not. She managed to get all of ONE Tea Party Senator elected. ONE. She's not running anything, except the nightly news.

God Bless to the families and friends of those slain. Not for a moment can one place himself or herself in that situation unless they have personally gone through the pain. The prayers of millions and God's grace will sustain them. They are going to need these prayers for a very long time. These same prayers surely are going out to Gabrielle Giffords, who is seemingly improving daily. Her family and her many friends will need to feel these prayers going to them as well.

The older residents of Dallas certainly can relate to the hell Tucson finds itself in now. This is where the United States shows that it's just not another country, no matter how often some of our leaders seem to believe so. The outpouring of the true American spirit will get them-and us-through this.

Meanwhile, Jared Loughner (sp?) smirks in solitude. However, paired with just the right playmate, screaming may become the order of the day.
Naaah...our tax dollars will guarantee he smirks with all his friends (alone). I don't say this to be vindictive-really. He will eventually be judged by a much-higher power...one that doesn't need a court of appeal.
