Engineers are like IT guys. We are the geeks to be shoved off in concrete windowless bunkers and to be made fun of. Until shit doesn't work

My bunker in the Chapman Printing building is probably the safest place in Huntington to survive a tornado... At least there's that.

We used to have to rouse your predecessor from sleep to put WRVC back on the air.

Weekends that this didn't happen was far more rare than those that didn't. I wish you had been the engineer back then

I also curse the bastard for threatening the EXISTENCE of WCMI 1340, which is this area's oldest full time station by decades, for his "We Can't Move Illegally" bullshit.

Not only this, that transmitter site's destruction destroyed a very VERY rare Blaw-Knox freestanding tower (1/2 wave)...

You do know that WCMI had fulltime authorization in 1935 to, well, now, whilst no one else had it until the 1950's (on AM)?

I doubt you had any idea how historic WCMI is when you had command of it. All I can say is my 1999 trip to 1301 Morningside Drive was a walk through radio history I still treasure the memories of (I still have copies of their 1950's era PAMS jingles).

I do love the fact that the calls are back on FM though... WCMI-FM

Which are the oldest surviving FM calls as well on our radio dial. (WCMI's calls are older than ANY currently used calls on radio in our area by decades) WCMI= 1935... KEE? 1950's... WRVC? 1980's... WAMX? 1970... Not even WTCR is an original call. WCMI is. WIRO is the only other that is, and she signed on in the 50's...

Engineers even have personality, sometime unique personality but always interesting. IT, is in the windows world, mac is the guy on the street corner and help is what 911 is for and by the way if you speak, by chance, to IT your answer is... quit using my bandwidth for stupid things like ratings or viewers.
