<soapbox on>...and yet you bastards would be talkin' to yourselves if there were no engineers.
The awards would then be, "Best folks in a padded-room".
Talent's just someone muttering to themselves without a functioning-medium.

Speak for yourself, Mikey, ask any of my former co-workers what happened if they hassled the engineer.
Clay? Reevis? Anyone want to take this one?

We used to have to rouse your predecessor from sleep to put WRVC back on the air.Cameron wrote:Speak for yourself, Mikey, ask any of my former co-workers what happened if they hassled the engineer.

Weekends that this didn't happen was far more rare than those that didn't. I wish you had been the engineer back then
Not only this, that transmitter site's destruction destroyed a very VERY rare Blaw-Knox freestanding tower (1/2 wave)...
You do know that WCMI had fulltime authorization in 1935 to, well, now, whilst no one else had it until the 1950's (on AM)?
I doubt you had any idea how historic WCMI is when you had command of it. All I can say is my 1999 trip to 1301 Morningside Drive was a walk through radio history I still treasure the memories of (I still have copies of their 1950's era PAMS jingles).
I do love the fact that the calls are back on FM though... WCMI-FM

"I doubt you own any FM radios patented by Edwin Armstrong capable of receiving the 'Yankee Network' back in its day"

Yeah, history, it escapes me.

[quote][Engineers are like IT guys. We are the geeks to be shoved off in concrete windowless bunkers and to be made fun of. Until shit doesn't work/quote] Big difference between the two, Engineers want things to work and are willing to share the knowledge of how to get the most out of what you have. Engineers even have personality, sometime unique personality but always interesting. IT, is in the windows world, mac is the guy on the street corner and help is what 911 is for and by the way if you speak, by chance, to IT your answer is... quit using my bandwidth for stupid things like ratings or viewers.
