You totally missed my point, Jay. I'm not saying we shouldn't pay taxes... I'm saying EVERYONE should. 47% of American's NOT paying any tax at all (and in many cases TAKING from 53% that do) is not sustainable.
And it's wealth redistribution.
I also don't think corporations should have loop holes (other than money they don't make in the U.S. shouldn't be taxed by the U.S.).

Excellent point. However, you're a dyed in the wool socialist lib. It will be interesting to see if the moderates that voted with you feel the same way in 2012.

Then it's not a "catch phrase for the right", is it? It's how you think business should be done. Technically speaking, even a flat tax redistributes the wealth, but at least it does so with a fair percentage.
Bob Campbell wrote:What you really mean by that phrase is, "I don't like what they're spending the money on". That's a valid point. I didn't like us spending money on Iraq. From my standpoint, that's 2 trillion wasted dollars. I'd rather have the money spent on education, health care and infrastructure.
Not at all. I have a problem that people can "buy the vote" by promising "bread and circuses" to those who contribute NOTHING.
