This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

3. Sick of seeing Danny Cline and Jan Dils spots. Those two represent everything that is wrong with our legal system.
4. Beford South Point Ford. "Where Connie Cares" What the hell does that mean?
5. Anything locally done with banjos and "yee-hah" screamed ...

Any lawyer spot generally sucks.
And to add to the list (I know, I'm making more contributions than should be allowed), those damned Affiliated Construction Trade commercials. Although the one where the guy is for a drug-free workplace is funny since he got busted for drugs. The one comparing being a Marine to being in the union is revolting.
The Hillshire Farms "GO MEAT" is about as bad as it gets. My idea of a really bad ad is one that pisses me off. If I were in the same room with the clowns that came up with these ads AND the morons (clients) who actually paid for and aired them... they would need several alcoholic drinks before I was finished with them. I mean... BAD is one thing... but when it literally pisses you off to the point you want to kick ass is another.

As far as national radio spots go, I have an extreme loathing for that 'Beta Prostate' spot. Especially since I heard the tool say 'recently, Beta Process gave away 500 free samples to listeners of this station'. Sorry, but that's an out-and-out lie, and it was intentional..so I called the network to raise hell over it. They seemed shocked that I'd complain, but we held firm and told them we'd cover the bastard up with local. The next spot, although cheesy, had been revised.

How about that new spot that positions Chrysler as the car of people like Gorbachev, Mandela, Lech Waleska, and other wall-breaking freedom-lovers. (Reagan, of course, nowhere to be seen.) Crass at best. WIll this really influence anybody? I find it insulting.
Oh, almost forgot, how about those new Nyquil commercials showing homely people with colds sleeping? Repulsive. I always think it's stupid to position your product with a negative, like it's used by slothfull, sick people.

Semper Fi, Brother.
I DETEST that damnable Nyquil commercial with the slob...slobbering...especially the close-up. Beyond disgusting. I have never understood the 'creative' mindset that thinks these types of commercials are beneficial. I had the same problem with Quiznos a few years back...2 Wall Street types walking down the street when the 'lady' spots a half-consumed Quiznos sub in the shitcan, then starts eating the remains of it. Vile and stupid, imho.

You mention Quiznos, I must admit I loved the commercial that ran shortly with the "spongemonkeys," talking fist things, but everybody I mentioned it to hated it with a passion. Goes to show what I know.

Actually, the campaign wasn't a bad idea, but it has gone on way, way too long for my taste.
This is a very misleading company, too. For one of the big 3 credit bureaus to stoop to these kind of business practices is just disgusting. They need to be investigated.
They fund all of that snazzy advertising by the hundreds of thousands of suckers they bait in every month before they figure out what kind of joke they are and cancel. Wash, rinse, repeat.
30 years ago, many broadcasters might have thought twice about running their ads. Their money is as good as anyone's, but they are very close to having ethics issues imo.
