For me, it's a treacherous combination of looking back at your life.
All the wrong turns you made. Poor choices. Wasted time. Chasing dreams.
The opportunities that were there but were missed back when such choices were simpler and affected fewer people.
Watching younger people with less experience or more education or an insider's ticket pass you by.
Then combine the ticking of life's clock.
A realization that you aren't 25 anymore.
Medical problems loom now and in the future.
Friends your age and just a little older are passing away.
Your children are growing up much too quickly.
A feeling that you'd better do it now (whatever "it" is) or there may not be another opportunity.
