Tried the fish tacos for lunch today... Pretty good, but they didn't have very much sauce on them. Could have been spicier.

Mc's angus burger is probably the best burger they've ever had. Still not worth $4, imo. Still nowhere near the Hardees burgers.

The best bang for the buck is the 89 cent chicken soft tacos/burritos from Taco Bell. Pure awesome.

My problem with the Hardee's burgers is that of the several restaurants I've visited, they can't seem to consistently get my order correct!!

I realize that the workers there are under a lot of pressure. They have a lot going on, and they have piddly little rules that they have to follow which don't, in any way, shape or form, pertain to the task at hand. But when you ask for a Mushroom and Swiss Thickburger and get a Hot Ham and Cheese...well, that's pretty much inexcusable. Or, when you specifically ask that certain toppings be left off of your burger and they put them on anyway! If I'm spending that much money on their product, and I'm told that I can get it the way I want it, then, for goodness sake, give it to me the way I want it! And then, when you finally find out that your order is wrong (after you've driven home, to work or elsewhere), you call to tell them, and they act as though, "Oh, well. When you come in we'll fix that." No real remorse and nothing to convey that they are sorry for your inconvenience of not being able to enjoy something that could have easily been done right the first time. I've even been told that "...we'll put your name in 'the book' so when you come in, just tell whoever's working.'" This suggests to me that screw-ups happen a lot more than they should.

Now I realize that my complaint is with a shortcoming of the service, not the product itself. As for the product, the larger Thickburgers simply overwhelm the bun and the things are too difficult to eat because they fall apart. Give me the better tasting McAngus burgers, any day.

There is a solution to part of that problem. In my experience, the little thickburgers are far superior to their larger brethren at Hardee's. And their new, larger hot dogs are disgusting, in my opinion. A pity, too. The ones they replaced had been delightful.

The best you can do is rest assured that a "photo shoot just for those creepy friends of yours" is coming up...along with a trip to PNC Park on August 8th. That always proves to be fun...

I think we'd all have to agree that our preferences run to "real" food. However, given that radio people, especially, have that wonderful combination of far too little spare time (to do things like cook a real meal) and far too little spare money (to afford fine dining) AND the need for quick, abundant sources of energy (to cover all those underpaid hours), then yeah, I suppose one could say that radio people are the dead center of the fast food target market, "Girl in the Box" (not to be confused with "Jack in the Box") notwithstanding.

I really don't eat that stuff if I can avoid it. Occasionally I'll eat fries or a milkshake from Mickey D's but I can't remember the last time I ate a burger or sandwich from one of those places. Pizza now...that's a different story.

1. No Taco Bell in Fairmont or Morgantown has got my order right during each of my last THREE visits! Sure they made things right, sure I called the 1-800 number and complained and got a free coupon...BUT THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO HAPPEN! Whatever became of "getting it right the first time"? Reminds me of The Monkees song "Long Title (Do I Have To Do This All Over Again?)"!

2. Visited Medina, OH this past weekend. After the Friday evening seminar session, I hit the local Waffle House for my standard grits, two eggs over easy, and toast. Three 18-21 year olds are working the place. One Mexican girl, one ghetto girl, and one reddest-necked hillbilly boy I've ever seen. THEY RAN THAT PLACE WITH CLASS, LIKE THEY OWNED IT! The ghetto girl was the shift supervisor and handled everything, the Mexican girl waited on me and was cheerful, funny and actually seemed to care about her job, and "Cable Guy Junior" was the cook. When my order was done he brought it over to me and said, "I'm sorry an egg broke on the way over. Do you want me to fix you another order"? I was speechless! Every restaurant in the Fairmont/Clarksburg/Morgantown area could learn a lesson from these three youngsters...probably working their first jobs ever...at the Medina, OH Waffle House.

I think the key statement in item #2 above was "probably working their first jobs ever". They haven't learned to mess things up yet...
