I used to be sports editor and later news editor for the Gallipolis paper. Looks like the H-D could use one, at least for the online edition. Hey, Ed, I'm available!

And now they've fixed the headline, but the URL with the Mancin (posted above) still works! :) Someone there must read this website! I suppose that's only fair, as the CC newsreaders read the HD on the air! :) (See, for instance, Brother Billy Cornwell!)

The HHD, not to be outdone on the extent of injuries thing, now has on a different incident:
...One person was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, dispatch said. The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. The extent of the person’s injuries were unknown.

The lack of subject-verb agreement? Oh, yeah......but somebody'll just claim it was written in England or something (even there, it would still be wrong).....and what's happened to compound words??

Another thing blowing my mind -- I watch a football game on ABC, and it says, "copyright ESPN;" I watch a football game on ESPN, and it says, "copyright American Broadcasting Corporation." 8O :?

And it continues:
...Sgt. J. Ashworth of the Huntington Police Department said a teenager jumped out of a vehicle and led officers on a foot chase about 10 a.m.. The teenagers was involved in an incident in Lincoln County, but information from the State Police detachment in that county was incomplete, he said....

Two things:

* I think someone there reads this site, so I would not be surprised to see this corrected soon.

* Does no one there edit stuff before it posts? Or do they no speaka da English?

I'd bet the words are those of a Parthenon Alumni.
That, or affirmative action has taken hold at the Herald-Disgrace.
