While I've been a big fan of posting links about them...

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

While I've been a big fan of posting links about them...

Post by Lester »

...I've never actually used a USB Turntable. Has one here plunked down the dough? If so, what were your impressions? Did it work as promised? Did it turn your vinyl into a heaping, melted mess?

Thanks,
Lester

I have the Numark usb turntable. It does a great job transferring vinyl to the pc. The cartridge and stylus are nothing special, I replaced mine with a audio tecnica cart/stylus.

What's the sampling rate? WAV or MP3? Since I've still got ye old Technics SL-1200, I connect audio to the sound card and digitize there.
Aircheck? You'd make a great board op.

I might have to spring for the preamp with USB.

wav, the numark comes with audacity software, which btw is available for free anyway, but i use adobe audition. the tuntable also has a line output for easy connection to a mixer or aux/line in jacks on your reciever. I also use a technics knockoff (Gemini XL-500II) that i connect to my mixer, and run through the soundcard.

Here is my Numark in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyBhRfGk3UE
