Orange County Register to outsource some editing to India

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

I have worked with service centers in India now for almost three years and in many cases do not see many issues.

Compared to the grammar I have recently seen in online versions of the Dispatch and Independent, I have no reason to see why it would not be possible. Although, outside of the United States, the Queen's English is more prevalent so things will be interesting if words like colour, rumour, and litre appear in the stories.

Not long ago the Dispatch reporter spelled Mercedes as Mercedez.

That's what I was going to say -- maybe they can't find any American who knows the language anymore! (Thanks, NEA! You got what you wanted!)

Or, given that it's Orange County, perhaps they can't find anyone who can relay a sentence without including "like" about every other word......

Hmm, this sounds like a good idea to me. One less thing I have to do each week.
