Ratings Question?
Can a radio show talk about it ratings or say they are number one on air or a myspace page (which it promoted on air) without purchasing the book?
How does that work?

My favorite follow up to that slogan: "If I played just one more song... just one more song this hour, they'd take me straight to jail."Uncle Shishkabob wrote:Which begs me to ax another question:
When a radio station says "They Play The Most Music Allowed By Law" to which law are they refering?

It always made me laugh but it always made the PD cringe.

My good friend was vacationing in Florida several years ago. He reported to me the local Oldies station he was listening to had this liner.
"Now playing a 50-50 mix of the 50's 60's and 70's"
HUH?
He is in the business and I have known him long enough to trust his observations.

"We are the CC Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your broadcast stations. We will add your biological and creative distinctiveness to our own. Your broadcast personality will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

I guess it sounds better than "Playing a 33.3-33.4-33.3 mix of the 50's, 60's, and 70's."
