Apparent fire at WV building, 4th and 9th

All Huntington Fire apparatus is on the scene of a fire at the WV building in the city.
WSAZ and WOWK apparently on autopilot and are at dinner.
Someone was trying to re-point the Herald-Dispatch webcam without any luck.
Nothing on news channel websites.

HUNTINGTON -

Several fire departments are on the scene of a structure fire at the West Virginia Building on 4th Avenue in downtown Huntington.

911 dispatchers say heavy smoke was reported on the 3rd floor.

They add firefighters are now in the process of evacuating apartments as they search for the source of the smoke. So far they have not found any flames.

We have a crew on the scene and will bring your further updates as they become available.

A fire has broke out at the West Virginia Building on 4th Ave in Cabell County.

Huntington, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A fire broke out at about 6:15 this afternoon at the West Virginia Building on 4th Ave.

911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com they received a call about heavy smoke on the third floor and say every fire crew in the city are on the scene.

Several other counties in the area are on stand by.

Officials tell us the whole building has been evacuated.

They think they have the fire out but are making sure it hasn't spread anywhere else in the building.
