WZZW Studio

Post by Big Media »

I was planning to post this in another thread as a reply to Greg's question on how to find oldies music, but I thought it would make for an interesting yarn all its own.

Does anyone know what Clear Channel did with the massive music library that used to be housed at the WZZW building in Milton. The had all manner of oldies music some of it on cart, some of it on reel. The AM Studio had a shelf in it that was loaded with TM Century reels, old weekly countdown shows, and all kinds of geeky radio stuff. It's a shame, but I imagine it all landed in a dumpster when the let the building go back to the city.

Also, I wonder what happened to the Sculley automation system they had. That thing had more carousels than Disney World.

I still kick myself for not taking photos of that place. It was packed, end-to-end, with treasures (not to mention snakes), and I think I am one of the last DJs who ran a broadcast out of there. If anyone else has any pictures, please share.
