Charleston appears to be Petered out....

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Charleston appears to be Petered out....

Post by CoolBreeze »

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia's capital city ranks near the bottom of the nation's 100 most "Sex Happy" cities, according to a new Men's Health Magazine study.

Charleston is the 97th most sexually active city in the U.S.,
ahead of Yonkers, N.Y., ranked 98th; Burlington, Vt., 99th; and Portland, Maine, 100th, according to the October issue of the national magazine.

Charleston is last among the cities in condom sales, and ranked 85th in the nation for sexually transmitted infections and 91st for birth rates, according to the study.

Charleston was the only West Virginia city to make the ranking, but the overall region was well represented.

Four Ohio cities -- Columbus, 3; Cincinnati, 34; Toledo, 62; Cleveland, 80 -- made the list, as well as two Kentucky cities -- Lexington, 66, and Louisville, 72 -- and one city in Virginia -- Virginia Beach, 55.

California dominated the study with 11 cities.

Texas followed close behind with four cities listed in the top 10 -- Austin, 1; Dallas 2; Arlington, 7; Houston, 10 -- and nine cities total in the ranking.

Washington, D.C., was ranked No. 26 in the nation.

Surprisingly, New Orleans (46th) and Las Vegas (70th) ranked lower than traditionally conservative cities Salt Lake City (23rd) and Wichita, Kan. (30th).

Well, all things considered, Salt Lake City shouldn't be such a surprise. After all, it has a young population. It also has a lot of LDS folks, who are given over to large families.
