I'd be bitter, too...if my favorite football team was in a shitty, third-rate conference.

Hell, even UK, as over-hyped as Marshall is in the local media, plays in the SEC with teams like Florida. They get respect because they are in a pretty tough conference. I can't say the same for the Blundering Turd and their Wayne County JV-esque competition.

I'm not bitter. A small state school like Marshall can't compete in major conferences. Only stupid or football novice Herd fans think any differently. I bleed green out of pure nostalgia and emotionalism.

I won't comment on Marshall vs. Ohio State, but the Marshall vs. WVU game is such a draw that our game (Tyler Consolidated vs. Magnolia) game was moved from that Friday back to Thursday. A 2010 Tyler grad, Nate Taylor, is a walk-on at Marshall. His dad says Nate will be used predominantly on special teams. His dad also said that Marshall treated Nate with respect, giving him a 3 1/2 hour tour of the campus. Note to opposing football teams: speed kills.
