I know you could purchase ammo (in addition to "stripey" clothing for working around mine sites) at the grocery store in Sidney, KY back in 1999. I even grabbed a garden rake out of that place to fix my driveway after it nearly washed away in bad storm.

What? All of them do. In fact the only places that don't sell ammunition are bars and churches. You can still buy ammunition in those places, but not legally.

Hell.. some years ago here in Kanawha County, my doctors sign said "MEDICAL CLINIC & GIFT SHOP".
In her waiting room was hundreds of items in glass shelves to look at. Then, in the back room where you got weighed and blood pressure taken was another gift shop room with even more stuff. The Doc was Korean, and so was all her gifts, but it still beat selling pills right?
