Hey everybody, I'm not sure how many of you heard, but Don Cook a former voice here at WCHS and at several other places died this moring about 5:30.

I've been scouring sources in search of audio from his work over the years, but I'm coming up empty. I know some of you love to keep old audio. If you would have ANY broadcasting work from Don's radio days I'd love to have it. I'm especially looking for baseball play-by play. This is a bit pressing since the Power would like to have it to use tonight at the ballpark.

I met Don at the old Watt Powell Park. He was pbp for the Wheelers. Did a great job. He had fun on the games. You could hear the fun in his voice. He will be missed.

During the broadcast of the Marshall-UCF game Sunday on 930 AM/94.1 FM from Appalachian Power Park, Steve Cotton dedicated the playing of 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' during the 7th inning stretch as a tribute to Don Cook (a former Herd play-by-play announcer) - no commercial break, just no talking while the organ played the song.

The Herd baseball team immediately rallied in the bottom of the 7th for 3 runs to take a 4-3 lead and went on to beat UCF 5-3 and sweep the 3 game series.
