You're not opposed to new road taxes. That's the word from the WV Department Of Highways ... so it MUST be true.
So.. how much MORE are you willing to pay, on top of ALL the other taxes you already pay. like: gasoline tax, yearly automobile tax, license tax, automobile sales tax, automobile insurance tax, and the list goes on... JUST for a car. Of course, not all of these taxes go towards roads, but does it matter to you in the long run? Apparently not, because the state said that YOU wanted to pay more tax. Funny, but West Virginians are famous for voting-in more and more taxes on themselves. Like here in Kanawha County, they pay the school system 3 times, when by law they only have to pay once. Those school taxes amount to about 75% of their property taxes, and yet Johnny cant read. But I digress...
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A series of public forums on highway funding is showing West Virginia highway officials that residents aren't opposed to tax increases for roads.
Rob Watson with the Division of Highways says the most popular suggestion to come from the forums is small tax and fee increases over a long period of time.
The DOH is holding public meeting across the state in an effort to develop a plan that will guide transportation planning for the next 25 years.
According to the Department of Transportation, the state could raise another $100 million a year for highways if it increased taxes and fees.

Residents in the Southern (and poorest) part of the state have been unfairly taxed for years for the "privilege" of driving on a four-lane interstate, albeit a very hilly and curvy one.
I say it's time to spread the misery to other parts of the state. Esp anywhere a bunch of dem outsiders are passing through junking up our beautiful state. Might as well shake 'em down while they're here.
And the Billy Bobs need more 1-mile "roads to nowhere" to drag race their four wheelers on all weekend.
Therefore, we need more taxums.
Hell, I don't mind.
