Byrd older than sliced bread.

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Byrd older than sliced bread.

Post by CoolBreeze »

The Charleston Gazette today mentioned an article in the Huffington Post about Robert C Byrd being older than commercial air travel, womens right to vote, television, the CIA, the states of Alaska and Hawaii, and sliced bread "which was first sold in Chillicothe Ohio".

Doesn't anyone "Fact Check" there anymore??

The first commercial use of the bread slicing machine was by the Chillicothe Baking Company of Chillicothe, Missouri, which produced their first slices on July 7, 1928.

And they say to be careful when using Wikipedia? Guess what? THEY got it right.

As far as Byrd being old, I'm sure there are millions of things younger than Byrd.... dirt for instance.
