A bit of Apollo 11/West Virginia trivia:

An artist hired by the Navy sketched, then painted the scene as the recovered Apollo 11 capsule was returned to the carrier USS Hornet back in 1969. That sketch, and one of the paintings done from that sketch now hang in the WRRR production studio.

That's a great article, TT. I never had heard any of that. Fascinating.

I second both those points.

The creative engineering solutions of the time are just amazing.

The computers used by NASA for Apollo and even in today's Space Shuttle amaze me.
