Yes, that is when it started to fall in place, I just finished Lawrence Roger's HISTORY OF U.S, TELEVISION. Rogers was the guy who put WSAZ on the air and called all the shots thru about 1955.
About 1/2 of the book is about WSAZ - rest about Taft Broadcasting who Rogers went to work for after WSAZ. Some really interesting stuff from the book - The way Rogers and Katz Reps made Charleston/Huntington one of the largest markets in the county (then 34/35) --- going full power when when WSAZ was licensed to do it and blowing away the Crosley signals in Cinci and Columbus -- and what a toilet Taft was compared to WSAZ ---- Taft had no VCRs -- never thought they needed them -
SAZ was on of the first to have one. A bit of interesting stuff too about WHTN and WCHS.
The book is on ebay -- you can get it for about $10.00.

That from UK/Morehead State grad that is dating a Cincy Bearcat and former professor at Northern Kentucky. She even texted me while I was in Atlanta Georgia during the ACC conference championship to beg me not to boo the Duke Blue Devils as they walked through the lobby of the hotel I was staying (but I had 20 former schoolmates asking me to continue the 17 year old hatred of the team). I think next weekend will be the "We Are Marshall" movie with my inconsiderate cheering for Morehead State due to me trying to bring back the good ole days of the late 80's/early to mid 90's when I spent way too much time on campus and in the athletics building that was the old locker room in the movie.
