I don't see how this is any different from the sync, swoosh, and echo effects that has been in popular music vocals for decades... Even reverb and keyboards are artificial sounds, if you get right down to it. This is just an inevitable technology progression, if you want to call it that.
You still have to have some vocal ability to become successful. The ones who are too over-reliant on it still won't make it out of their basements.
We also won't count the vast majority of remixes, and trance/electronica music, by definition, which is comprised of computer generated sounds and loops put together by DJs in their basements with a good ear for production.
AI proves every season that looks alone will get you nowhere. Neither will a great voice with zero stage presence. It's a combination of vocals, style, and performing abilities that sell records. It always has been that way.
Pop music may be all too quick to overuse these effects, but it's pop music... Not a classical masterpiece. What would you expect?
