This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.
MGM and the Farrelly brothers are closing in on their cast for "The Three Stooges."
Studio has set Sean Penn to play Larry, and negotiations are underway with Jim Carrey to play Curly, with the actor already making plans to gain 40 pounds to approximate the physical dimensions of Jerome "Curly" Howard.
The studio is zeroing in on Benicio Del Toro to play Moe.
The film is not a biopic, but rather a comedy built around the antics of the three characters that Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Howard played in the Columbia Pictures shorts. http://www.variety.com/VR1118001643.html
For those of you that ever met him in person, Bill Coogle WAS Shemp. I think that's one of the main reasons me and Conrad and Denny Burnworth all thought he was hilarious. Just not on the air...

If you want someone to blame for "signing the papers" that got me into radio, Denny Burnworth was the man. He was doing either middays or afternoons at WFGM ("Stereo 98"...pre-"Great 98") and he is the one that signed my temporary permit that allowed me to work before I passed my Third Class test (half the people on here probably have no idea what I'm typing about!).
Following that, he worked at 'TCS and at 'FGM at the same time (as did many of us) and also had worked in Chambersburg, PA prior to Fairmont and also did a little time in Minneapolis.
