In all seriousness, is $185K a fair price for that station?
I have no idea what an AM standalone with all the rather spartan trimmings would cost in a rural area.

thats a good point, I first saw the price and was like, honey, i'm mortgaging the kids... then i saw it was an AM...

The guy in Weston who owns AM 980 wants $289K, but that's a 25 kW daytime operation with 47 watts at night, plus web streaming gear, studio, tower, et al. The thing's been for sale for at least four years now and no takers ...

The offices and studio must be a "mobile studio" useable for remotes. Note the trailer hitch on the front of the office.
...and in Washington 2 peopls and in Newark a windmill and an armadillo!

Xmtr site is leased.
I would check with the property owners
to see if they are willing to extend it.

Grafton ?

Now that brings back some memories!

In 93' I went with an interested party to inspect the AM/FM for sale in Grafton. The trailer/office was a dump. The guy actually admitted having two sets of books! The jock didn't know the place was for sale. We could not see the FM xmtr site because of a dispute with the landowner. After talking with some locals, we deduced the town hated the owner and no one would deal with him. He also lived in another town. Interest was lost immediately. Doesn't sound like it's changed much. Did the FM sell?

I think they both sold around 2002 or so. The FM is now a K-Love satellite drone. The AM is what you see for sale here...the current owners got a major mod to move it from 1260 to 1190, up the power, and get some flea power at night.

So how does it do?
Is signal coverage good?
Do they actually have paying customers buying ads on the station?
What else do they listen to in metropolitan Grafton?
What is the format?
