Experts Warn of 'Terminator'-Style Military-Robot Rebellion

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Experts Warn of 'Terminator'-Style Military-Robot Rebellion

When you really think about the future, you can almost see this happening. Maybe this is not so farfetched after all. I wish they would have went into this in greater depth.

This guy is far ahead of his time.

This will likely be standard warfare by mid-century. Why put human soldiers in harm's way if you can send a bunch of robots instead?

We're already using a low level of this concept: the drone planes in Afghanistan. While far from perfect, it certainly has spared American lives.

Location, location, location. Yeah, they may save soldier's lives... but they'll be fighting in and around civilians. So as long as the U.S. is the sole owner of said contraptions, we win. Once an assload of "the other guys" robots get dropped into New York City, it's a different story. Times 2 on that if we send our own robots in to clear them out.

Not quite the same. Drone's still operate under extremely tight human control. See a target, identify the target, additional in-house intel verifies that might be what they see, JAG gets called in to look over target, potential collateral damage/soft target assets, if approved, the HMFIC greenlights the shoot.
