OH no Jesco! ( Here we go again! )

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

OH no Jesco! ( Here we go again! )

Post by CoolBreeze »

For the past year, filmmaker Storm Taylor and his film crew have visited Boone County, home of the "World famous Dancing Outlaw" Jesco White.. They've filmed White, his family and the people surrounding them for a documentary titled "The Wild and Wonderful Whites."

"It's not 'Hillbillies Gone Wild,'" Taylor said. "A lot of people want to think that's what we're doing. The Whites are what they are. There's no faking it."

But he's not pulling his punches. Taylor's film crew spent a year following the family. Some of Taylor's footage includes filming people in jail or getting out of jail, people in rehab and even people getting kicked out of rehab.

The documentary is bankrolled by Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze and Jeff Tremaine, the creators of the wildly popular MTV series "Jackass," which featured Knoxville and his friends performing dangerous, self-destructive and crude pranks and stunts.

The pride of Boone County returns. America will rejoice. The residents that live along Rt. 3 cry in shame.

It was all done right the first time, so why are we doing it again? Maybe a follow-up on Jes and the family, but not another feature! I mean "Jesco Goes To Hollywood" wasn't even really needed. You know my motto: "Stick with the original and the legend never diminishes"...

The popularity of this man is absolutely absurd.

Jesco White, putting a face to the stereotype since 1991.

Here's another good one...

I'm sure everyone here knows someone like this.

I would like to see this film. It looks to me like they are portraying WV and its people neither positive or negative... They're just showing it as it is -- poverty and all. Obviously not everyone in WV lives like this, but many do, and it's neat they're giving the world a glimpse into how some live back in the woods.

Ironically, this guy reminds me of my old neighbor in NoVA of all places. He was a country boy in the big city. Wasn't ashamed at all to work on and rev old cars, run a log splitter in his front yard, and have Skynard blasting out his front door the whole time. Drank a lot, too. Many of the neighbors didn't like him, but anytime we got a rare snowstorm, he was the first one outside digging everyone out and making sure everyone was ok.

He would also confront people parked in strange vehicles at night, asking them what the hell they were doing there, and run them off. If not, he would call one of his buddies from the Fairfax County police to come out... Yes, some of them would party with him, too. I seen cruisers parked over there at night more than once.

Jethro was his name (seriously)...

I wish I could always have Jethro as a neighbor.

I made it to no less than 3 iced over parking lots in my truck this week with my truck. Our school custodian actually waited to clear one and rode with me on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, I was elbow deep in grease changing out an engine with a friend who blew up his civic.

So I guess that makes me one of them.

I think I'm late for tap lessons. Grandpap will be mad about that one.
