So is WLGC dark for good???

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

anybody missing it?
Normally, the reason to operate a loser station like an AM would be to keep the competition out.
Now the economy is down, AM is dead and it makes sense to let it die.
Like the AM in Madison, WV, nobody misses it but radio geeks.

What kind of xmtr did they have?

The big kind. With fire-bottles.
Collins 21-series or Gates BC I believe. I'm leanin' towards Gates.
Nothing made this side of the 70s...either in decades or efficiencies.
Nighttime was a transfer-switch/LPB combo-platter.

I thought you had to make an FCC app to take a station "dark"?
http://www.thenewoldiesshow.com
WRSG Knights 91.5 Middlebourne-Sistersville, WV 5 PM Eastern Wednesdays (Repeats 7 AM Thursdays).
106.3 The Double Q, Farmington, Iowa, 10-11 AM Central time, Wednesdays.
Buckeye Broadcasting, Cambridge, Ohio, 10 AM Eastern time Friday and other days on Live 365.com
WBPS 101.9, Cambridge, Ohio
KZBZ 92.1, Williams, Arizona,
Sundays.

Soon, every crappy daytimer in the country will simulcast the Clear-Channel satellite feed
for crappy daytimers. It will not be the Tom Rotten show.
