Chinese Democracy is here!!

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

I just lit some incense and turned on my black light. My coworker are knocking at my door but I am not answering. Not today. Today is a religious holiday. And I am only a few tracks into this album.

I am serious. If you like GnR, you will love this album. Their best work.

Dude.

This is this new "Dark Side of the Moon"

I know some of you will do, "HAHAHAHAHA n00b you know not of what you speak."

Yeah, it took 53 years to release...but it was soooooooooo worth it.

"Sorry" has the potential to be a CHR MONSTER!

Don't cry, GUNS N' ROSES fans. The agonizing wait for the 17-years-in-the-making masterpiece "Chinese Democracy" will finally be over (fingers crossed) on November 23, 2008. Sure, there have been more rumored release dates than the 23 flavors of Dr Pepper, but if "Chinese Democracy" hits stores as announced, it's going to be so easy, easy for every American to get a free Dr Pepper as promised.

"We never thought this day would come," said Tony Jacobs, vice president of marketing for Dr Pepper. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

Dr Pepper is ready to give out free soda coupons to every American when the album releases on November 23, 2008. If you're out to get a free Dr Pepper just follow these simple steps:

How to get your free Dr Pepper:

1. On the Nov. 23, 2008 release date, go to http://www.drpepper.com
2. Register your information to receive a coupon for one free 20-oz. Dr Pepper.
3. When your coupon arrives, redeem it wherever Dr Pepper is sold.
4. Drink your Dr Pepper slowly to experience all 23 flavors. Dr's orders.

Coupons will be available for 24 hours, starting at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on Nov. 23, 2008. Allow 4-6 weeks for coupon to arrive. Coupons will expire on February 28, 2009. Limit one coupon per person. Full terms and conditions available at http://www.drpepper.com.
On a side note, check out how many times ALL the songs for Chinese Demcracy on GnR's Myspace have been played. Astounding!

I need a copy of this album... I'm not near a Best Buy and the RIAA is probably monitoring that torrent closely.

I love this whole Dr. Pepper side note going on here. It's great publicity for them, and the fact that the coupon is only available for 24 hours means that the offer will be over before most people know about it.

Win-win.

From Blabbermouth:
The new GUNS N' ROSES' album, "Chinese Democracy", has been streamed nearly two million times on the band's official MySpace page since it was first uploaded early this morning (Thursday, November 20). The stream will be available until the LP is released on Sunday, November 23.

"Chinese Democracy" will be issued in the U.S. exclusively through Best Buy. The 14-song set will be available on CD, vinyl, and as a download. While singer Axl Rose has remained silent, co-managers Irving Azoff and Andy Gould said in a statement, "The release of 'Chinese Democracy' marks a historic moment in rock n'roll. We're launching with a monumental campaign...that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself. GUNS N' ROSES fans have every reason to celebrate, for this is only the beginning."

One new song, "Shackler's Revenge", debuted on September 14 through the Rock Band 2 video game, while another, called "If The World", can be heard in the new film "Body of Lies".

"Chinese Democracy" is the first album of new material from GUNS N' ROSES since 1991's "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II".

Dude... I thought you were from Barboursville?

On a related note, I know you drive a Toyota, but I have been seeing a white Ford Explorer with a license plate that reads "K-ROCK". You should consider suing for infringement.

That wasn't me.

I've purposely been evasive about where exactly I am to give myself a little anon buffer, lest any of my words here possibly be used against me in the future.

However, I haven't went out of my way to completely cover this. It's not too hard to figure out, and some people here already know.

Let's just say that I'm not too far away, but not close enough to make one CD worth the trip -- even though it is Chinese Democracy...

Bastards.

That would be a little too obvious...
