Bad-ass Roller Coaster

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

230 feet high? Hey, if you can't even hang a class "A" on it,..... :P

5200 feet long and "lasts over three minutes" = avg speed of less than 20 mph! If the first rise takes a minute, then the average speed is still under 30! :P

Looks plenty, plenty cool, but it appears that the 310-ft tall, 6595-ft long, 92-mph Millennium Force will remain the region's brute for years to come.....you know, if it's running that day.......

Nothing is coming out. It is going back behind Tomb Raider (now known as The Crypt) and to the right and front of Beast. Think Nitro at Great Adventure, but a little bit shorter and with a splashdown at the end.

The concrete forms were finished months ago.
It was kinda' funny seeing these large forms with bolts sticking out trying to be camoflauged with giant terracotta planters and ferns.
The lake behind the Eiffel Tower was drained and filled with a concrete "splashway".
There's either a water spashdown element at the end of the ride - or water integrated into a braking-system like some of the newer coaster-designs this year.
It runs from the back of the Eiffel Tower - past the old Tomb Raider and out near the land features next to the Beast.
Even though it's "Diamondback", there's been a big push to associate the ride with Evel Knievel.

Nope, no attempt to associate it with Evel Knievel. That would be Six Flags St Louis, which actually named a roller coaster after him. Yes, his son, Robbie Knievel, who jumped at Kings Island, as he did in Texas, etc. spilled more beans than the park would have liked just shortly before his July 4 jump at Kings Island...

H/D thinks a waterpark would make a fine addition to the 930 antenna farm on Park Street.

Yawn. I have ridden Nitro at Great Adventure for the last 5 years. This is nothing new. 230' and 80 MPH for both.

except, except, except...

Even though Nitro is longer, the Kings Island coaster claims to be a three minute ride, while Nitro is only two minutes, twenty seconds. A shorter coaster that takes forty seconds longer? There is already widespread speculation that the Kings Island coaster will be very ... uh.... braked.
