107.7 in Weston

I meant to mention this back in May when I first heard the station, but I'm diggin on this new 107.7 in Weston that's running Shannon's True Oldies Channel...anyone know anything else about it? Is this the same guy that has WHAW?

I heard "Steve" (I'm assuming it was WHAW owner Steve Peters) Saturday morning doing the "Swap Shop", and it was the most thoroughly enjoyable time I've had listening to the radio in quite a while. Steve is totally natural on the air, and each phone call turns into a mini-interview, with predicable and hilarious results. He has an ability to make the callers open up immediately, and the entire show has the real quality of a Saturday morning spent with Andy Griffith on the front porch of a general store in Mayberry. It was Real Radio, and I wish there more more programs and stations like his.

The 980 signal is tremendous, and didn't fade until I dropped over Allegheny Front into Pendleton County on U.S. 33.

According to the WHAW website http://www.whawradio.com/DemocratStory.htm , "the FCC granted Janie Woofter final license to operate 107.7, WVRW FM in Glenville on February 13, 2008. " Apparently, she's still holding the license, and the website for them is here. http://www.wvrwfm.com/
