SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Director of the Nicholas County 911 system and his administrative assistant are charged with using county money to finance things like personal car repairs and stays at a Fayette County hotel.
State Police arrested Alfonso Derito, Junior of Richwood and Robin Christine Evans of Summersville at the 911 Center in Summersville Monday morning. Derito is charged with three felony counts of falsifying county accounts, and Evans is charged with one count.
"They were spending money and then, when it was turned back in to the county fund, they falsified the papers that were sent back into Nicholas County," said State Police Sergeant Brad Mankins.
The criminal complaints allege between November 2007 and March 2008 checked in to the Quality Inn Hotel in Fayetteville no less than five times.
Investigators say during a March 18th visit Derito purchased the hotel room with a Nicholas County issued BB&T bank card. He allegedly turned in the purchase order to the Nicholas County Commission the next day for "1 Night, 1 Person Lodging."
Investigators also allege Derito purchased a $29.96 package of Enzyte (a male enhancement product) at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Summersville last October with the County Commission's Wal-Mart card.
