What Type Of Beta Tapes Does A Sony VO-5600 Use???

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

What Type Of Beta Tapes Does A Sony VO-5600 Use???

Post by Scott Reppert »

This is a question for the TV folks out there. We just picked up a few of the old Sony VO-5600 Beta record/play decks and need to test them out but don't know what tapes to get to try it out. What kind of tapes would play on or record on this device?

Also, should it work after testing, how do you hook up a DVD player to it to transfer from DVD to Beta?

Any help would be appreciated. Along with any spare gift cards / pizza coupons you may have laying around...

I think the vo-5600 is a u-matic machine.
It uses 3/4 inch tape, not beta or broadcast beta.

Video out to video in.
Audio out to audio in.

We threw away thousands of the u-matic tapes years ago.
Good luck even finding good tape.

U-Matic is right.

When all else fails, try ebay. They have some listed there.
