Roller Coaster Accident At Cedar Point; People Injured
May 26 2007 2:39PM

Three people were being treated injuries Saturday after an accident aboard a Cedar Point ride.

The incident occurred aboard the Magnum XL-200.

Cedar Point officials confirm that two of the roller coaster cars collided.

Three people were hurt. All three were taken to Cedar Point's first aid center and released. The third passenger was taken to an area hospital for an asthma related problem.

The Magnum is now shut down until officials complete an investigation.

According to Cedar Point's Web site, the coaster opened in 1989 and stands 205 feet above ground with a top speed of 72 mph.

Last year, the ride was voted No. 3 in the "Best Steel Roller Coaster in the World" category in a poll conducted by Amusement Today, according to the park.
