Old pictures of WKNA-TV

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Old pictures of WKNA-TV

Post by Jeff Miller »

Randy Kerbawy of WJLS has scanned 15 old photos of WKNA-TV, which was the first TV station in Charleston. I've added them to a set on flickr and right now they are just numbered 101 to 115. If anyone can identify anyone or anything, please email me at jeff560@aol.com or post the info in a reply here, or if you know anyone was around back in those days, it would be nice if you would ask them about the pictures. The last two are probably not directly related to WKNA.

WKNA-TV operated on Channel 49 for about a year and a half, 1953 to 1955.

Thanks,
Jeff Miller

The two things I found most interesting: the WVU football schedule for 1954 (I think they would have been 4-8 that year, too, with this year's team!) and the Betty Crocker recipe in the back for Poor Boy Sandwiches...

Very cool... Ill try to resend the digital images of the articles about the station fire if I can track them down...
Clearly on the defensive, Bush now sounds increasingly Nixonian as he basically calls the majority of the country traitors for noticing he tricked us.
