I have never used voice recognition software.
I was speculating about how it works.
Has anyone actually used the stuff?
Would it display a speech impediment or other spoken anomalies in this way?

Voice recognition software just returns words. It will only add punctuation if you tell it to, and any kind of speech impediment / anomaly would just show up as a "best guess".

I'm going to guess that someone using an outdated/archaic word processor program or writing style added them manually to fit the formatting of their final draft. Then when it gets forwarded to the teenager that runs their website, he doesn't know to fix it for the webpage layout.

It was a sad day for the Smith family, for sure...and with the history we shared fighting the Raeses, I'm sure Bill's "thrilled" comment was secretly sarcastic...but polite and classy, just like one would expect from him.

Seeing John Raese for who he is is not obsessing over him. I have a broad view of his history, and the potential harm that will be done to my state by the upside down priorities of the Raese/Miller/Decendants power structure. Mr. Harman, you are too close to the situation to have a full perspective.

Dick (sorry, Richard, if you like), the first thing we're taking care of in Beckley is making sure that people can do an airshift without having to put a tent over the board to keep from being electrocuted by the water pouring in. And hopefully, we can get the mold out so that the employees don't have to complain to OSHA any more like they did under previous ownership. You, indeed, are standing WAY too far away from the deplorable physical conditions of the WJLS building to be able to make any meaningful comments on this subject, so if you didn't finish your Christmas bottle, have another swig and settle down. Really, it's pitiful to think of you being so obsessed with an imagined 30 year old insult that you have to take potshots on Christmas Day.

As I said before, we will inherit a great staff that doesn't let anything stand in their way when it comes to achieving success. I am already enjoying their company, and I look forward to giving them the tools and help they need to continue. Thank God you don't know what you're talking about.

For all my WVRC bashing, I gotta chime in. John Raese was the absolutely best WV-based radio owner I've ever worked for. (Keep in mind I liked working for the McGraw's, but Raese treated his people better.)

So, it may suck to be in radio and *NOT* work for Raese (which seems to be your complaint), but to be in radio and working for him is nothing like you're describing.

I liked listening to Dick McGraw on WCLG-FM in the early 70's, and he always treated me respectfully whenever we met while I was working on our turnaround in Elkins and we were beating each other's brains out in what turned out to be roughly a 50-50 draw. Good, clean, hard fought fun, for the most part.
