I saw this on the Today show this morning. The Wall Street Journal had an AP article http://online.wsj.com/article/AP4a8b4b8 ... b236.html# that a small amount of unclaimed money that had been turned over to the WV Treasurer's office. The money dated back to Lauer's days at WOWK-TV in 1979.
The Today show had John Perdue live on the phone to tell Lauer that he had $65 in a 'dormant' bank account from Bank One. Lauer said he will add some additional money and donate it to United Way of Central WV. Purdue urged Lauer to come back and spend some time in 'Almost Heaven' and Lauer said he missed the state.
