WCWV changes format

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

WCWV changes format

Post by djsandman »

I noticed over the weekend that 92.9 WCWV in Summersville flipped from Southern Gospel to A/C.

Sounds "piped in" to me and they're called the Breeze - an A/C hybrid of old and new, from .38 Special to John Mayer.

Didn't this station used to be some flavor of AC a few years ago? And when they flipped, they directed listeners to one of the Summit Media Stations?

Or am I hazy on the details?

I don't think they stream either. Do they?

From what I remember - C93 was a hot a/c type station and was locally programmed for awhile. Very rare anywhere in West Virginia anymore, right??? Then switched to Westwood One's Hot A/C service (used at the same time by 92.7 WVHF in Clarksburg.) Then it became religious. It has always had religious programming on all Sunday though even back in the hot a/c days.

Interesting!

Radio Locator has a stream listed for WCWV, but it doesn't work.
