Back in the biz

Post by Ace Purple »

I'm happy to announce that I have been hired as a news producer at WSAZ-TV and will be officially starting there on Monday. This will be my second stint with WSAZ; I worked there from December 1999-April 2001 in a similar capacity. But I'm thrilled to be back in Huntington and happy that so many friends of mine who I worked with there 11+ years ago are still at the station.

Congratulations Lou and welcome back to the area.

I know a couple of folks there. Jim Backus is one of the photojournalists (he goes to my church) and Ryan Epling is a producer who also writes for herdnation.com where I write a monthly column and cover practices and games. Nice people who I'm sure will be good to work with.

I've known Jim going back to my first time at WSAZ -- he's one of the many great people I worked with who are still there, 11+ years later. I look forward to meeting Ryan and the rest of the crew who I haven't yet met.
