Indy 500 & Coca-Cola 600

Quite a few empty seats for the big race. Indy.
Turn 4 full but pit-side stands 2/3 empty.
Overpriced, too hot, or gasoline prices?
turn 3 looks 90% full. amazing empty seats across from pits.

Charlotte 600 race had a large part of the back-side stands taken up with flag and military logos.
Otherwise the crowd looked good.

I went to the Indy 500 in 1999 and ended up with a bad sunburn. Live and learn. It was a fun time, but it was a warm day -- though not as hot as it was there yesterday. I wonder at least if some of the empty seats in Indianapolis were held by people who were taking cover from the heat in the shade?

The crowds that showed for this year's events will question the return for next years races as the All Star Race and the Coca Cola 600 both had to be the most boring set of NASCAR races in the history of the sport. I like "clean" racing, but this NASCAR Sprint Series drivers are treating these cars as if the bumpers are made of nitroglycerin.
