WOUX?

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

WOUX?

Post by Tom Taggart »

C.P. for 105.3 non-com at St. Marys...was to be called WPKM (logical enough--Parkersburg~Marietta), now has this new call.

Original group going to LMA to Ohio U. maybe? Would be ironic as WV Public Radio was one of the original competitors for this channel.

without benefit of any other information, i'd say that's very likely. the calls would make it consistent with the other stations in the "WOUB radio network"...like WOUL Ironton, WOUZ Zanesville...

hmmmmm...so much for my logic...the owner is the "Parkersburg Catholic Schools Foundation, Inc". i've never known of a private school to LMA to a public university...

According to an article from last month on the Charleston Daily Mail website, 105.3 WOUX will be part one of two additional stations to join the "West Virginia Catholic Radio Network" that reportedly airs on six stations across the state at this point.

http://dailymail.com/Entertainment/201204050255?page=2

"In addition to the six network stations that are now on the air, the network said two stations - WNUX 89.7 FM in Montgomery-Beckley and WOUX 105.3 FM in St. Marys-Parkersburg - are under development."

That's what I get for writing half a post, getting distracted, then writing the rest of it later without checking to see if any new posts has gone up in-between.
