what is walk fm?
A friend was telling me about a walk fm. On 98.3 in South Shore. Is this the old joy fm? Friend says it sounds like a bunch of locals trying to be radio stars. Whoever owns this must be non radio. Sounds non pro.

According to the legal ID I heard for them yesterday, Walk FM airs on five stations:
91.1 WKAO/Ashland, KY
88.7 WPJY/Blennerhassett, WV
91.5 WPJW/Hurricane, WV
88.1 WVRR/Point Pleasant, WV
98.3 WOKE/Garrison, KY
According to the FCC listings, WOKE is licensed to Big River Radio, Inc. The other four are licensed to Positive Alternative Radio, Inc.
I can't speak for the broadcast range of the other four, but 91.1 FM comes in pretty well in the Barboursville area and, if the map is accurate on radio-locator.com, looks to have city-grade coverage from Ashland to points east of Huntington.
