I took 14 of my broadcasting students to WTRF today for our annual soiree'. Laurie Conway, Bryan Davis and promotions director Jessica Rine could not have been more gracious to us. Mrs. Rine did an excellent job showing the kids the ropes and was very kind in answering questions (and taking MANY pictures with the kids' phones), and Ms. Conway and Mr. Davis were equally kind in showing how they presented the news and weather segments. Finally, Mr. Davis stayed perhaps ten minutes after his shift to talk to the kids before we departed.
We've been doing this tour since 1983 (with the exception of the year they remodeled, not permitting tours-we went to WTAP and 93R instead), and I've always been impressed with their professionalism, grace and class. They really listened to the kids and were very encouraging. We had one girl that wore a green shirt, so we had fun with the unintended special effects. The kids were very-well behaved, perhaps a little intimidated at times, but they made this old man proud!
Kudos to WTRF
