My wife and dog were in a story on WOWK news last night

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

My wife and dog were in a story on WOWK news last night

Post by EZ103.3FM »

We participate in a program at the Cabell County Public Library where kids practice reading aloud to therapy dogs. When we got to the library last evening, there was a camera guy there. He talked to my wife about the program and then got some shots of a little girl named Amy reading to our Sheltie Angel. It was Amy's first time in the program and she did very well considering the distraction of the camera. The story aired on the 11 PM newscast.

Here's a link to the story: http://www.wowktv.com/story/17389210/pr ... ing-skills. They didn't post any video, but there's a picure of Amy and Angel.

While I'm on the subject, Angel has been nominated for a Hero Dog Award in the Therapy Dog category. The awards are sponsored by the American Humane Association. Here's a link to her page there: http://www.herodogawards.org/vote/?nominee=75996573. She was nominated for her work with a little boy who had selective mutism and hadn't spoken in kindergarten. He immediately started reading aloud to Angel and soon was talking to us. His mother and therapist credit his great improvement to reading to Angel. In his third and final year in the program, he wore a microphone and read to Angel in front of a group of 30 strangers as part of a demonstration of the program. This year he ran for vice-president of his 4th grade class.

A popular vote will determine the winner of each category, so if you'd like to support Angel please vote for her using the vote button above the picture. You can vote once daily for one dog in each category through June 30. Other categories are Service Dogs, Guide Dogs, Search & Rescue Dogs, Military Dogs, etc. You don't have to register at the site; they do ask for your email address but only to keep track for the one vote per day per category limit and to send a thanks for voting email message. You also have to answer a really easy question, like how much is 2+3 or what month follows January. This is to prevent automated voting.

Thanks.....
