John Dickinson was a Charleston-based reporter for WOWK-TV in the 80's. He also worked at WCAW radio in Charleston and WTAE radio in Pittsburgh. John and I were fraternity brothers while attending Denison University. We got our first taste of broadcasting at WDUB-FM, the college radio station.
After leaving Charleston John returned to his native Pennsylvania and worked for public television there before going to law school. John is now a Deputy Attorney General for Pennsylvania.
This link is to a clip from WNEP Channel 16 in Scranton PA and concerns an insurance fraud case John prosecuted. John appears in the video giving a comment on the case after the sentencing. He posted the link on facebook with this comment: 'Once upon a time I worked as a tv news reporter. When I would be assigned to cover a criminal trial I would often wait in the courthouse lobby with other reporters, hoping to grab a comment from the prosecuting attorney. Some years later I went to law school and eventually became a prosecutor. I just never expected everything to come full circle in Scranton, PA...'

BTW if anyone remembers John, on a personal note John's wife of 25 years (Lynn) passed away a few months ago after a long illness. Lynn was a Charleston native.
