Meteorologist -- WOWK-TV, a WV Media Station, has an immediate opening for a Meteorologist. This full-time position will prepare and deliver accurate weather reports for our newscasts. Candidate will need to be comfortable reporting from several platforms including live events, in-studio and online on a regular basis. This position also includes web reporting and blogging. Proficiency in current AP Style guidelines is a must. Candidates with experience using WSI equipment are preferred. Successful candidate will have a NWS and/or AMS seal and at least two-years of on-air experience. If there was any drawback to my years on air, at least in the mind of management and some listenership, was the fact that I would often...VERY often...make references and use
humor that only 15 out of every thousand listening understood or "got". Now, granted, those fifteen that "got it" were wrecking their cars and laughing until they cried. The other
985 were going, "What?"

With that in mind, I was laughing out loud until I had a tear or two in my eyes as I typed the word "Patrick".

As in "Patrick The Meteorologist"...a WTCS staple for many years. He was a junior high/high school kid who would hang around "The 'T'" and would call me in the production room from one of the offices and read the weather as I recorded it.

I guarantee you three people I know that frequent this board read that and lost it...
