KLove makes the flip in Moundsville/Wheeling

Post by Paradigm »

96.5 is now playing a loop directing listeners to 88.7. The signal on both stations is now horrible and not listenable from the north end of Wheeling, not sure if they are running at full power or not at this time. The real question is what is Keymarket going to do with 96.5. My guess is put a froggy on it and sell off 103.5 Stuebenville. They already moved 104.5 closer to the market and it covers much of the area 103.5 had.

How is the signal now that 88.7 is at full power since about noon Saturday?

Last time I was heading up rt 2 toward Weirton it was much better, it now overlaps with 99.3, where a few weeks ago there was a dead spot between them. I was driving along 79 on Saturday afternoon and did notice that it had a much better signal. One thing I did notice is that when they play the call letters, they are only listing 88.7 and not 99.3 as they did when it was feeding off of 96.5.

Also the sound quality is much better, is this a new transmitter? I know I did work for Ron King who owned wrkp, which sold to klove. And I know the 96.5 transmitter was always on it's last leg and had an interesting high pitch squeal that would come up from time to time.

Well it did sound good, now it has been off the air for much of this weekend. There is another station, sounds to be old gospel music coming in with a lot of static. The translator at 99.3 is doing the same thing.
