That's DAM old!

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

That's DAM old!

Quoting the Disgrace/AP:

SUTTON, W.Va. (AP) — The Sutton Dam’s war-interrupted construction 50 years ago will be marked this week with a ceremony.

Construction of the 210-foot-high dam was authorized by Congress in 1938, but construction didn’t start until 11 years later. Then the Korean War suspended that work, which was resumed in 1956.

The dam was dedicated in July 1861, and it’s proved its worth. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers says the dam has provided more than $400 million in flood damage reduction.

A program on Friday will recognize those who worked on the dam’s construction.

Civil (War) project perhaps?
