One of the best of the best. Remember him well all the way back to the WCMI days...

The Voice broke the news and in remembrance of the late, great Paul Harvey, Know It All offers The Rest of the Story...
Word out of Greenup County is that The Marlboro Man and a nicotine fit got Ted Robinson fired. He reportedly was lighting up while calling high school basketball games. Far from impressed, school officials were lighting up too, only they were lighting up the telephones at the station that Loves Greenup County. The first set of calls resulted in a reminder and the second resulted in the door being held open for for his permanent exit.
At last report Ted is planning to buy his smokes with unemployment checks.

I like Ted... it was fun to work with him when our paths crossed at times.
But it's sad that anyone would be that addicted to something that they couldn't make it through 2 hours without a fix.

Re: Ted Robinson out at WLGC
Ted is definitely old school but I am wondering if there is more to this story.
Hell, when I left Radio Mountain in the late 90's, you could still smoke in the building, except for the production room. Even that rule was broken regularly.
An engineer in the company I work for now was let go for smoking in the transmitter room. Funny, the place was infested with wasps, spiders, bats, and snakes, and they were deeply concerned about the effects of smoking on the equipment.

I hate the smell of cig smoke. However, with that being said, Ted's awesome. If this is indeed true then it's a stupid reason to fire someone for lighting up a damn cig. People make mistakes, perhaps he just forgot out of habit.
I'm sure he'll land somewhere.
