He is no longer listed on WSAZ.com. Is he still with 3?

I emailed Tim Irr about a month ago asking where Dave had been, and Tim said he had a back injury and was waiting for clearance to return. Maybe he didn't get his clearance?

Just received confirmation from Tim, Dave has landed a job at WCHS.

Good luck to Dave with his new gig. I produced some newscasts that he anchored during my time at WSAZ and he was always great to work with.

Any one know if He's staying in Huntington? I was thinking if he moved to charleston, he could co-anchor weekends. Boy Wchs and Fox have got to come on board with another newscast. Now with some descant talent.

I don't understand why 'SAZ is letting great talent jump ship. I do hope Dave Benton co-anchors weekends with Kallie. If he remains in Huntington, WCHS could do the two-city news on weekends.

Screwed up the timing and most of his intro was missed.

So why is 8/11 staffing up all of a sudden? Are they making significant inroads on 3's ratings? Are they just tired of hiring kids?

Making a move to HD soon like 3?

Or was Dave's move simply an indictment on what's going on internally at 3?

Their Live shots from Huntington are always mis-timed. They really need some help tuning things up. Especially if they are going to build up their Huntington Bureu.
Can WSAZ keep up in ratings?

I am really beginning to wonder what's going on behind closed doors at 'SAZ. Dave Benton had worked there for over a decade. People don't usually just go across town after that long. If 3 keeps losing their good talent to WCHS, I think they are really threatened for 1st place. WCHS has realized this, and they're building their talent base.

This is really interesting...a *huge* loss for SAZ...very surprised he wasn't on a non compete
