I was there when the Rolling Stones had their first hit record. Later I loved the song "Cant get no satisfaction", that is until I saw the group. I was such a Beatles fan that I knew the Stones were little more than lucky (and visually ugly, unlike the Beatles) "short timers" on the music scene. There's not too much I've been wrong about ( but that's another topic ) but I was dead wrong about the Stones.
Now it's 46 years later and I still cant figure out how it all happened, (beyond the talent, hit's and longevity) especially with Mick Jagger in the lead.
Mick was never what you would call attractive. He had lips like a catfish and bulging eyes to boot.
Mick couldnt play an instrument. Pretty unusual for a lead singer that also COULDN'T DANCE.
Mick couldnt dance worth a lick. On stage he was the stiffest White boy going. Steve Tyler of Aerosmith must have learned to dance from Mick.
Mick couldnt sing worth a damned. Place him in a room all by himself and he'd sound awful. But that voice was perfect in every way for the Stones. No Mick and that voice... no Stones.
And yet after all that, Mick is still alive and well, still doing what he always did so well.... and will, with The Rolling Stones, go down in history as one of the greatest Rock Bands ever.
This gives hope to every single person on earth that they too can make it in their respective fields.

"Be sure to listen next time on 'Rock Relics' for an in-depth analysis of Keith Richards. Or should I say, 'KEEF!'. And should Mr. Richards not be available, which is a more than seventy percent possibility, 'Rock Relics' will look into the magnificent career of Lieutenant Pigeon"...
